March 11th, 2006 - 3 meetings in one! Come to any or all of the listed items !
    1) 10:30am Business meeting at Andy Harris’ house - 2447 Marshall Way, Sacramento - RSVP (916) 531-8503
    2) 12:30pm Lunch at Johnny Rockets - K-Street Mall - 2nd story at the WEST end
       of the mall ... an easy walk from the WEST end parking structure (by the Holiday Inn).
    3) 2pm until 4pm at the Towe Museum on Front Street (916) 442-6693. Hours at the
       Towe are 10am-6pm with the last admission being 5 o’clock.

April 22nd, 2006 - (PART ONE) 10am to 3pm Annual Grass Valley Good Old Days Car Show @ Mill & Main Streets. If you have interest in showing your car, contact Bill Toensing (530) 477-1128 toensing[at]hitechnetworks[dot]net or get info directly from the event organizers at (530) 272-8315 www.downtowngrassvalley.com There is a fee for showing your car, (1973 and older) and it MUST be there on site before 8am and must stay until after 3:30pm.

(PART TWO) 4pm to 6pm - afternoon Potluck BBQ at Bill Toensing's home: 13226 Mystic Mine Road, Nevada City. Soda provided, BYOB. Directions from downtown Grass Valley, go west on Main Street which becomes Rough & Ready Hwy, go a couple miles to 3-way stop. At Bitney Springs Road turn right - go about ½ to ¾ miles to the first road on left, then left on Mystic Mine Road.

May 13th, 2006 - 12 noon Tech Picnic at Donn & Carol Garriott's home (see map) 6116 Sandy Way, Brown's Valley, CA. Food provided, Bring Your Own Beverages. Please RSVP with Carol (530) 743-1924

Directions to the Garriot's from Sacramento: Take I-80 east to Hwy 65 north (through Wheatland) to Hwy 70 north to Marysville. Follow signs for Hwy 20: right on 9th, left around the lake, left on B Street, and right onto 12th Street - Hwy 20. Continue for approx. 10 miles and turn left on Marysville Road (at the Browns Valley sign - see the 76 station on the corner). Go about 4 miles, passing the Post Office. Watch for a sign on the right for 'Winwalker Ranch' and make the first right after that sign, onto Sandy Way. Driveway is up the road, on the right: 6116.


June 10th, 2006 - 11am until 4pm - Western Railway Museum on Highway 12 in Fairfield. Pack your ice chest and spend the day learning about train history. $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $7 for children aged 2-14. Entrance fee covers the train exhibits and antique train ride. Plenty of parking, and shady picnic tables. Museum info can be found at www.wrm.org

July 15th, 2006 - Note new date! - 1:30pm Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville. 2:00pm is the when the Tour starts, included with the price of museum admission, so please be prompt - join us at the front desk. The facilities are air-conditioned, so it's a nice opportunity to see some beautiful automobiles.

There are shops and restaurants nearby, so come down early to beat the heat and have lunch - or stay after the tour for an early dinner.

Museum admission: $8 for Adults, $5 for Students (with valid ID), $5 for Seniors (65 & older), free for Children under 6 (must be accompanied by a paid adult), free for Active Military Personnel. Parking is free.

Directions to the Ennis' from I-80: Take the Colfax exit and follow the signs for Grass Valley. At the Cedar Ridge "Y" follow signs to the airport and Nevada City. At the light, turn right onto Greenhorne Road. Continue for 1.9 miles and then turn left onto Dogwood Road: 11991.

'Good Old Days' Car Show located in downtown Grass Valley, at Mill & Main Streets. Cars, food and great rock 'n roll music make the day a fun event for everyone. No charge unless you enter your car into the judging event ($20 per pre-'72 vehicle - must arrive by 8am). Lunch at local restaurants, all within walking distance. ColomaFest - Small Town Summer Days. Join us for a fun day of celebrating the Coloma-Lotus valley's development after the Gold Rush. There will be a classic car show (including trucks and motorcycles) as well as Craft Arts vendors, not to mention music by the Cow Bops (the guitarist was recently featured on the soundtrack of the film, Million Dollar Baby, and of course great food & friends. Purchase food there, or bring your own for a picnic under the trees.

Cost is $7 to park, but is **FREE** to SVCC members if you show your car.

Bastille Day and Potluck at Steven & Betty de Haas’ home in Lotus. (see map) BBQ meat will be provided. Bring a potluck dish and drinks. Limited space is available for overnight stay, either by tent or small RV (make prior arrangements). RSVP is mandatory 1 week prior to event: (530) 622-0188 or (530) 626-0985 to leave message.

Directions to the Bastille Day party from US50: Take the Ponderosa Road exit in Shingle Springs, and at the north side of the overpass take an immediate right onto Lotus Road - follow the signs to Lotus. There is a "Y" you will come to - stay left towards Lotus. When you come down the hill into Lotus, you will pass a speed limit sign, then the sign for the town of Lotus, then a second speed limit sign - take the next right onto Mountain View Drive. If you come to a stop sign - you went to far - turn around and try again! Follow 1 mile of paved road, followed by 1/2 mile of gravel. At the garbage cans stay to the right and finish your journey at the last house on the road.

Directions to the Bastille Day party from US80: Take Hwy49 south at Auburn. Pass through Cool. When you cross the river bridge, follow signs just after that to the right for the town of Lotus. Go past the park, and past the stop sign, take your first left onto Mountain View Drive. Follow 1 mile of paved road, followed by 1/2 mile of gravel. At the garbage cans stay to the right and finish your journey at the last house on the road.

April 29th-30th, 2006 - 4th Annual Alpine 500 Vintage Car Rally. Two day event takes you through the back roads of Northern California. Rally begins in Sacramento, stays overnight at Lake Tahoe, then finishes up in Fairplay, South El Dorado County, on Sunday afternoon. $280 registration fee covers you and a co-driver for the overnight stay at Lake Tahoe, T-shirts, rally book, and the closing rally banquet on Sunday.
